Be Sensitive to the Spirit

February 25, 2019

The days in which we live in can seem frightening to most of us. A lot of things are happening in the world that can cause us fear and anxiety. There is conflict, poverty and disease in many parts of the world and even in our own communities. We struggle to fight these conditions day after day; and sometimes, we get too tired that we start to lose hope.

God is our Father and Savior. He is an ever present help in times of trouble. He is there for us to turn to Him when we are troubled. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” When we get stressed and anxious because of the worries of the world, let us not forget that we will be safe under the power and protection of God.

The Holy Spirit can renew the face of the earth. If we allow ourselves to be filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit, we can be the instruments of God’s work. The world will be a better place if we take on the roles that God has provided for us.

We often forget that we have been entrusted to be stewards of God’s creation. Part of this assignment includes our responsibility towards our fellowmen. We must stand as shining examples of our faith and share God’s goodness with others. Our mission is to introduce people to God and bring God to His people.

To do this, we must learn to be sensitive to the Spirit. Being sensitive to the Spirit of the Lord means knowing God better, listening to His Word, and using our God-given gifts to carry out His teachings. When we are sensitive to the Spirit, we draw courage from the Lord to perform great deeds that create positive change in the world around us.
