Why Wisdom is Better Than Gold

Are you experiencing problems and challenges in your life? Do you have questions that you know nobody can answer? Are you confused with some of the changes in your life, to the extent that you don’t know what is the right thing to do?

The thing that you need is WISDOM. Wisdom is a wise attitude, belief, or course of action, as defined by Merriam Webster. Wisdom is the ability to think and act using everything in you: using your mind, experiences, perceptions, insights and most important beliefs.

Proverbs 3:13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.

The answer to all of your confusion is wisdom; it will help you discern what is the right thing to do in every circumstance. Wisdom will tell you when you’re on the right path. It is a treasure more than gold and silver. It is better than all the pleasures in this world. Do you know where you can find wisdom?

Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Everyone should please God in order to have wisdom; for wisdom only comes from the Lord. There is, however, what is called earthly wisdom. These are called earthly because they do not abide by God’s point of view. One example is jealousy; it is an earthly wisdom because God didn’t teach us to be jealous. In God’s eye, we are all the same. We have been given different gifts from God that we should be satisfied and be thankful for.

These are the examples of  wisdom based from the Word of God.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Peace-loving: accomplishing all issues and problems in life in peace. Considerate: considering all the people involved in our problem and not thinking of ourselves alone. Submissive: acknowledging your faults and failures. Full of mercy: showing mercy to all the creations of God. Impartial: treating people equally whether rich and powerful or less fortunate and powerless. Sincere: giving your heart and mind in everything that you do, especially when praising the Lord your God.

Proverbs 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

Wisdom is more important than gold and blessed are those who will find wisdom. Seek the wisdom that comes only from the Lord and fill your life with it.

“Praise and Worship – Why we need to do them”

What is your way to praise and worship the Lord?

Exodus 23:25  Worship the Lord your God, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.

Worship, as defined by the Oxford dictionary, is the feeling of reverence and adoration for a deity. We, as believers, revere and adore the Lord when we worship Him. In addition, it is a way for us to give thanks for everything that we have and to show our appreciation to God for all that He has given us. It doesn’t only show our love for God, but it also gives us strength to keep His commandments. We receive the blessings of the Lord and feel His presence while worshipping Him. Through it, we are able to grow in our spiritual life.

Psalm 145:3 Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise: His greatness no one can fathom.

The Lord is worthy to be praised. How do we praise the Lord?

We can praise Him by singing joyful and holy songs, by praying and talking to Him regularly, by playing musical instruments in His name, by praying for others, by reading His words, and of course, by discipleship. Through spreading the good news that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, you praise God by encouraging others to follow His Word and be closer to Him.

Colossians 3:16  Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Whatever you do in life, do it all for the glory of God.

Every simple way of worshipping and praising God can bring joy to Him. Start bringing joy to the Lord today!

Children and Mothers are God’s Gifts of Love

One of the most precious relationships you will ever find is that of a mother and her child. We all have an idea of what a mother means to us, but the Bible helps us understand more about the wonderful relationship between mothers and their children.

Psalm 127:3

Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Children are God’s gifts of love; they are heaven’s generous reward.

The day a child is born, so is the mother born into the start of her journey of motherhood. Children are gifts from God, they are the most precious blessing that parents can receive. Not every woman can give birth to a child, but every woman can be a mother. So if you are among those who can, it means that you are very blessed. Take that blessing and make the best out of it. Be a good mother and love your children as you love yourself. Give them everything they need and of all things, lead them to Jesus. Let them know that there’s a Savior who loves and cares for all of us.

Deuteronomy 5:16

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Every child is commanded by the Lord to honor his or her mother and father. And if we obey the Lord’s instruction, we will live longer in this world and the Lord will always on our side.

A mother is one of the most important people in your life. Make her feel that every day. She is the only person who understands you even if you’re not saying anything. She’s the one who gives you hope and strength. She is always on your side in your ups and downs. No matter what happens, she will never leave you.

Let’s love our mothers the best way we can and celebrate Mother’s Day with a grateful heart!

Obedience Is the Key to Good Outcomes

Obedience, by definition, is compliance with an order, request, or law. It can also mean submission to another’s authority.

As Christians, we have followed Jesus Christ for Him to be the ruler of our lives. We have accepted Him as our savior and let Him take control over us. We should be obedient followers, however, it is not an easy task.

John 14:23 says,  Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

As you can see, Jesus expects us to obey His teachings, to follow all of His commands and to fully obey the Lord. It is not easy, but on the other hand, it will bring us good outcomes:

  1. God, our Father, will be with us. As Romans 8:31 says, What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? God is a strong refuge. If He is with us, nobody can win against us.
  2. Every good thing will follow. God will make our lives successful and fruitful. As a result, our lives will become better than yesterday.

The key to all of that is OBEDIENCE. We should obey His rules and listen to Him through the use of the Holy Spirit. By communicating with Him through prayers and reading His word, we can finally know what we need to do and what we need to understand.

Walking with Him obediently means we should not tolerate our sins. We should let God do His will and use us as instruments for His glory. In this, we’re not planning for ourselves, but for the Lord our God.

Keep this in mind and walk obediently with God!

Spiritual Discipline: A Key to Salvation

Spiritual Discipline: A Key to Salvation

As believers, we have a lot of responsibilities. We also have what is called spiritual discipline. Let’s find out what spiritual discipline is and how it will help us to grow, to be good followers of Jesus and to become spiritually healthy.

1 Timothy 4:7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

Spiritual discipline refers to practices found in the Bible that promote spiritual growth among us, the believers. It is not our attitude or character, it has something to do with our practices.

Here are examples of spiritual discipline:

PRAYER

Talk regularly to God, tell everything to Him: your problems, gratitudes and worries. This is our means of communication with God. God loves to listen to His children.

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

GROW INTO YOUR SALVATION

Read the Bible regularly. Doing this allows us to communicate with God through His Word. Read and meditate. This is the spiritual food that we need to keep ourselves on track, to make us strong and to keep our faith in God. It will help us a lot to grow in our salvation. Remember, if you already accepted Jesus as your savior, you have salvation already. However, we should also grow with it. Reading the bible is one of the key ways to grow. It enables us to learn to trust Jesus alone.

GLOW INTO OUR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY

Serve as a good example in your community. Show that Jesus Christ is living in us, that He’s in our hearts. We live by His glory, we follow Him and we let Him control our lives. Then our community will see Him with us, and that would be a big help to make them become one of us. This practice is called discipleship.

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

We should discipline ourselves by the power of the Holy Spirit to show godliness to others and receive the fruits of peace, joy and salvation.

Prayers Can Move Mountains

In life, we have ups and downs, We experience successes and we also undergo failures. At times we are encouraged, and sometimes we are discouraged. We attain happiness and also endure sadness.

What are the things that we can do to go with the flow? What would be our way through it?

The answer is none other than PRAYER, Do you know that prayer can change everything. It can move mountains. The impossible can be possible with God. We should pray to God, who knows everything, whose plans are to make us prosper and veer us away from harm.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

He is always there to listen. Through prayer, we can ask the Lord to watch over certain areas of our lives that need help or blessing. God will work on prayers on our behalf. He answers our prayers depending on His plan. Sometimes, we see the struggles as negative; but God is just using them to make us strong, for us to learn to call on Him whenever we are in need and to trust in Him.

We also pray to build our relationship with God. Remember that in a relationship, communication is a key factor. When we are praying, we are talking to God. If we love God, we would want to spend time talking to Him even before the day starts.

Proverbs 8:17

I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.

You can use ACTS as your guidelines in praying. It can help you when you feel you do not know how to pray.

Love For Jesus

Have you ever received an expensive gift before? A birthday gift, an anniversary gift, or a graduation gift? What did you feel? Did you feel very special?

People give gifts to those who are special in their lives. Giving gifts are ways of sharing blessings and showing gratitude to others. But most of all, it is a way to show your love for someone.

Now, if you will be given a chance to show your love for Jesus, what will you do? What gift will you give?

In Mark 14:3-9, during Jesus’ last visit to the town of Bethany, a woman wanted to show her love for Him. So she brought an alabaster jar of perfume and poured it on His head. The disciples asked angrily, “ Why this waste?” Jesus told them to stop troubling her, for she has done a beautiful thing to Him.

Jesus was so delighted with her gift, for it came from a heart of love. Jesus doesn’t look at how expensive your gift is; Jesus is after your heart, a heart of giving and showing love. What other things will you give to show your love? Your time, talent and treasure?

You can give your time by serving in the church and helping the leader of the church. In giving your talent, you can volunteer yourself to sing, dance or play instruments for praising the Lord. Lastly, in giving your treasure, you are willing to give money to help the church in their finances. All of that will be very much appreciated by the Lord if it is coming from a heart of love.

All that is coming from a sincere heart is beautiful in the eyes of the Lord. It doesn’t matter if it’s expensive or not. What is important to Him is your heart.

Jesus sacrificed His life for us. Is it a good reason to love Him? Think of it now.

Let God Change Your Life

Do you believe in God?  Do you let Him control your life? If not, you’re not yet experiencing God’s love. What is God’s love? Is it the same as the love of your mother/father, or your wife/husband, or a brother/sister?

If you have no knowledge of God’s love, then you are still living and controlling your life alone. If you’ve never listened to the Holy Spirit, then this is for you.

Romans 10:9 says, 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Do you know that Jesus died for us to be saved? We should believe in Jesus Christ because He sacrificed His life for us to know that there is a God who loves us and is very much willing to give us light. A light that will direct us to the right path. A light that will teach us to appreciate everything around us. A light that will give us the happiness that we’re longing for. And the light that will give us eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come.

Now! Are you ready to believe in Jesus and accept Him as your savior and let Him control your life?

You will be a new creation, God will forgive all of your sins if you will let Him. He will direct your path with the help of the Holy Spirit. You will now have your salvation. You will live as God wants you to live. Believe and accept Jesus before you regret it.

John 11:25 says, Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believe in Me will live even if he dies.

Claim it! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Find Rest in the Lord

Are you getting tired of your life, your work and all the circumstances that are happening in your life?

Our world is full of weariness, pain, hunger, debt, poverty, disease and death. We have a lot of responsibilities to fulfill, a lot of deadlines to meet and a lot of struggles to face, but do not forget that we are only humans and we need to rest. There is someone inviting us, Jesus invites us and welcomes us to give us rest.

Matthew  11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Jesus can give us the rest that we deserve by the use of the Holy Spirit. It will enlighten us, give us peace of mind and definitely give us rest in everything that we are on.

Everybody needs a break, rest and time to unwind in order to be productive again. But always remember that when we try to do everything in our own capabilities without the acknowledgement of the Creator, our God, we will just get worn-out and frustrated by our own mistakes and failures.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

This verse tells us to acknowledge our God and let Him always be the center of our life, with that we can be assured that we are on the right path. We are resting on His power and glory.

Trusting God can give us true rest. When we are weary in life’s struggles, let us find rest in the Lord.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life

Do you believe in God? Do you believe that you will be saved? Do you know what is life after death?

“They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.Acts 16:31

Many of us are afraid to die because we never know where we’ll be going. We don’t know what will happen next, yet the bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but also eternal life.

1 John 5:13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

Life on earth is like a test, a preparation of what is coming. The question is, do you believe in God? If your answer is yes, definitely you will call as a believer and if you believe in God you will also believe that life after death is eternal life with God.

There is only one way to be saved, that is through faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the truth, the way and the life.

John 11:25-26Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”

By God’s grace, always walk daily in obedience to the Lord. Trust Him for strength and power to obey.

Depend upon what God has declared in His word.

Now, are you really sure about your salvation? After reading the Word of God? You should by now. Acceptance of Jesus is the key.
